HOODS by Angela Betzien

Two ‘Hoods’ ride the train each night to a wrecking yard on the outskirts of the city. Here in this cemetery of stories they are storytellers as they leap from one imaginary car wreck to another, acting out each vehicle’s final moments with the power to fast-forward, pause and rewind.

Tonight they tell the story of three children left in a car, Kyle, Jessie and baby Troy …

Tough yet entertaining, HOODS by Angela Betzien (originally commissioned by Sydney Opera House, HOODS successfully toured to schools in Australia for 2 years) examines subjects such as marginalised youth, poverty, and family breakdown.

This energetic, exciting production will be touring to schools in Munster and South Leinster from October 2014 and is designed for Transition Year and older Junior Cycle students.

Schools may also avail of the performance in the Graffiti Theatre, Blackpool. Please contact Graffiti for more information.
